Apple HomePod mini gets Indian music streaming services Gaana and JioSaavn

Apple announced on Wednesday that the US tech giant has integrated Indian music streaming services Gaana and JioSaavn into its HomePod mini smart speaker. Powered by Siri, the HomePod mini can now take voice command to stream content from these music services, in addition to Apple Music. However, newly integrated music services need to be added to HomePod mini. Here’s how:

How to Set Up Gaana and JioSaavn on HomePod

Step 1: On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, open your streaming service’s app and go to app settings. Subscription may be required for some streaming services.

2nd step: Tap the option to connect with HomePod.

Step 3: Follow the onscreen instructions to set up music streaming services on HomePod.

How to choose a default music streaming service on HomePod

Step 1: Open the Home app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

2nd step: Tap Home , go to home settings and choose the home you want to edit.

Step 3: Tap your name under People.

Step 4: Tap Default Service under Media. Select the streaming service you want to set as default.

Step 5: To stream audio from other supported streaming services, simply name the service when asking Siri.

To note: If Siri doesn’t play your default streaming service after setup, you may need to log in as the primary user. Open the Home app and long press the HomePod tile. Next, scroll down, tap Primary User, and sign in with your Apple ID.

The Apple HomePod mini is available from the online Apple Store and Apple Authorized Resellers in White and Space Gray colors for Rs 9,990.
