Apple Music is now available to stream music to PlayStation 5. But what about Xbox?

Today, Sony announced that the Apple Music app is available for PS5 users. Anyone with an Apple Music subscription can stream 90 million songs, curated playlists, music videos, and Apple Music Radio in the PS5 app. Apple Music PS5 app supports background music playback and seamless music video playback. This is how it works.

  2. Navigate to the control center and select “Music”.
  3. Apple Music is an available option.

Apple Music subscribers can also watch music videos in the PS5 app. The videos start in full screen, but the video sound will continue if you browse elsewhere on the PlayStation 5.

What about Apple Music on Xbox Series X?

You can listen to Spotify, SoundCloud, and Pandora on Xbox using an official app, but not Apple Music. However, that does not mean that you cannot enjoy the service using your Xbox Series X console. A third party application called “AirServer” connects to AirPlay and allows you to remotely stream Apple Music content to an Xbox device from an iPhone or an iPad.

The only downside is that the AirServer app costs $ 20 from the Microsoft Store. Fortunately, there is a 60 minute free trial to see if the app meets your needs. Here’s how to set it up.

  1. Go to the “Store” app on your Xbox.
  2. Search for “AirServer”.
  3. Install “AirServer Xbox Edition”.
  4. Launch the app on your Xbox.
  5. Press the directional pad to the right.
  6. Press “A” to display a QR code to configure AirPlay.
  7. Open “AirServer Connect” on your iOS device.
  8. Select “Scan QR Code”.
  9. Allow camera permission if prompted.
  10. Scan the QR code provided by the Xbox app.

You should now be able to stream video and music remotely to your Xbox app. This is not an official Apple Music app for Xbox, but it will work until one becomes available.
