Spotify went down with users reporting connection issues preventing them from listening to their music.
The app disconnected people this morning and was unable to reconnect. Most users reported seeing a message telling them that there was a problem with their connection while signing into the app on a PC.
One user reported: “Not working on PC – internet connection error even though my internet connection is working fine – error code 4.”
Problems have been reported in Europe, according to Down Detector, but there appear to be problems around the world. The most reported issues are with music streaming (73%), connection (21%) and Spotify on Sonos (5%) which is more of a related issue.
Spotify Status, a Twitter account that provides updates on the service, tweeted acknowledging the issue, but has not yet indicated when the service will be back.
We are currently aware of some issues and are checking them out! We will keep you posted.

Spotify also experienced an outage in November where songs were played and then muted, but the latter issues seem to be more prevalent.
The music site’s issues weren’t the only technical issues this week, as Google went down, leaving users without access to Gmail, YouTube, and Google documents.
We will update this page when the service is back online.
